Leadership Summary:
Synergy’s leadership is a unique combination of personalities, skills, and past performance unmatched in the industry. Founded in 2010 by Larry Jones, the name Synergy was not arbitrary. The concept that “one plus one is greater than two…” seemed an obvious choice for a service oriented company focused on the success of our clients. By 2010 Larry’s career had included the creation and successful growth of SDN Global (1995), a worldwide satellite communications service provider. SDN Global was acquired in 2008 where Larry remained President and CEO until 2010.
James Burke, co-owner of Synergy (“Jamie”) met Larry in 2003 when he was tasked with designing and deploying a full data, voice, and video infrastructure and satellite service for Operation Iraqi Freedom, specifically the reconstruction efforts by commercial construction and the Army Corp of Engineers.
SDN Global was one of many bidders for the contract, and by far the smallest and least known. Jamie’s peers questioned his sanity when he awarded SDN this challenging and life-critical task. The months that followed saw the new service successfully established in record time. New teleport infrastructure was implemented in Germany to act as the gateway for high bandwidth services in theatre in Iraq. The unwritten goal of delivering carrier quality voice, data, and video before Christmas Eve was literally an award-winning success.
Jamie became a Member-Owner of Synergy in 2012 with a vision of continuing the excellence demonstrated by his team in that difficult environment.
Larry W Jones
Founder, CEO
"It's difficult to imagine a more challenging time for businesses than we experience today. Small to medium sized businesses are especially driven to deliver higher volume and profit margins from their business processes, while maintaining a choke-hold on the costs of running their business..."
"For this very reason we envisioned a company totally focused on the unique competitive needs of each of our clients. Synergy is the manifestation of that vision and is today reshaping the traditional "as a Service" mantra that so dominates most descriptions of The Cloud..."
Until late 2010 Larry held the position of President and CEO for SDN Global, a worldwide satellite communications service provider. As the founder of SDN Global in 1995, Larry provided the vision and leadership to grow the company to acquisition in 2008. During his career of over 35 years Larry has exhibited repeated successes in emerging technologies in both IT and Telecommunications markets.
James P Burke, MBA
Member Owner, Board of Directors
"The IT playing field continues to innovate. This innovation brings new levels of efficiency, scale and a new cost paradigm. Business must utilize this innovation to be more efficient and compete more effectively. Small and medium businesses must take advantage of recent innovations in IT hardware, software and business process automation now!"
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with an MIS degree and serving for nearly a decade as an officer in the US Army, Jamie has held numerous technical and leadership roles in several large IT outsourcing and system integration organizations over the last 12 years. Jamie currently also sits on the Program Management MBA Advisory Board for the University of Texas at Dallas.
